After I left my first meeting with Elaine and will in December of 2011, I knew that Elaine was a girl who knew exactly what she wanted. I was excited to see what that would translate to in terms of her wedding plans. We kept in contact over the following year after she hired me. At their engagement session I learned a little more about their wedding plans, which was awesome, but I couldn't wait to see how everything unfolded on the day of.
Elaine and Will were married on August 4, 2012 at Admiral Baker in San Diego. Admiral Baker is a public golf club owned and operated by the military community. I have been to many golf courses in my day, both private and public, and this beats any public golf course I have ever seen! It's beautiful! It has amazing views of the mountains in the eastern part of San Diego, its very well kept, and it's tranquil enough to feel like you're at a private golf club. It's a well kept secret, that's for sure!
Their ceremony was one of my very favorites of the year. Elaine, who is a grade school teacher, found a fun Dr. Suess themed ceremony (I found a similar one that you can look at here, there's was a tad different, but you get the idea.) Everyone laughed and smiled at how cute it was. Elaine's brother in law performed their ceremony for them, which was a great way to involve family in the process.
Elaine is Chinese, and she very much wanted to find a way to infuse this part of her culture into her wedding day. So not only did she have a beautiful wedding gown, Elaine also changed into a gorgeous red traditional Chinese gown for part of their reception. They also performed a Chinese tea ceremony, which was very heartfelt and special to see.
Elaine and Will are such a great pair, and I can't wait to see what the future holds in store for them! Knowing them, it will be pretty adventurous and fun!
