I'd like to begin this post by stating that I love love l-o-v-e Monica + David (who I will always call Bradford because that's what Monica introduced me to him as, and I thought, for about a year, that that was his actual first name). Monica and I have gotten to know each other pretty well over the last year or two and I am happy to call her a great friend. I met her a while back when she was running Classy Covers, a company that provided linens to events in San Diego. Our paths crossed several times as we worked together on a variety of projects. I was so excited when she approached me about shooting her wedding, and of course I said "yes, yes, please pick me!" And she did. Yay for me!
Monica and David (aka Bradford Bradford) were married on the sand of Coronado (at the beach that's part of the navy base there.) It was a warm day, the sun was shining (in that magically yummy kind of way). If you've lived or spent time in San Diego, you know how hit and miss beach days can be, and this one was ideal. They each wrote their own vows, which were incredibly meaningful, funny, and honest. I was also lucky to work with Rev. Christopher Tuttle, who is one of my favorite officiants in San Diego. He tailored their ceremony just for them. Another reason I love working with him is that he knows exactly when to step away and let the couple enjoy a few moments of solitude (as much as you can have in front of a crowd of onlookers, anyway). It makes for some great photos and a special time for the bride and groom at the altar.
Their reception was a blast! Everyone wanted to celebrate with them, and there was a ton of dancing and laughter all around. Some amazing speeches were given, a gorgeous cake was cut, and in the end, I got to celebrate the happiness of a great friend! What an awesome day!
One more thing- I have had the pleasure of working with some great videographers (and some not so great one too). Wedding images are a great way to make sure you keep your memories, but a great wedding videographer will bring those same moments to life. In any event, this is an awesome video!
