Geri and Dan are awesome! We conversed lots via email before they decided to hire me, and when I met them for the first time at their engagement session, we sat for a while beforehand, had some beers, and talked about their wedding. Originally they had planned to get married at a local yacht club. From their descriptions of what they had planned, I knew I was in for a fun time with them and their friends. A couple months later I got an email from Geri letting me know that their plans had changed a little bit-- they were now getting married at The Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego's Balboa Park. Immediately I thought "WOOOOHOO!" because this is where I got married too! I couldn't wait to return there to photograph a wedding.
Geri and Dan's wedding was every bit as awesome as I expected it to be. There were lots of shenanigans throughout the entire day, and in the end everyone had fun. Plain and simple! Plus, it was beautiful! The fact that the room where MOPA holds their wedding is basically a big white box is one of my favorite details about that venue. A big white box means you have a big empty canvas to create something beautiful. All you need is some great lighting and some simple decor and presto! Insta-awesome modern lovely wedding! I loved their streamlined decor, the colors they decided to use throughout, and of course, the custom wine bottle labels! Cheers to Geri and Dan!
