A while back I shared some images from Melanie and David's maternity session. Silly me, I hadn't shared images from their wedding, which happened a few months prior to that! So here they are!
When most people hear about a city hall wedding, many might think of bland colors, horrible lighting, and overall a boring atmosphere. San Francisco simply would not have that. San Francisco City Hall is GORGEOUS. It is probably one of my favorite buildings in the city. It's hard to not love it since the architectural elements are just stunning. Anyone who ties the knot here is lucky to be married in such a beautiful atmosphere!
Melanie and David decided to have their "small" wedding at City Hall. And by small they meant about 75 people, which is nothing compared to the 300+ celebration they are planning for next year! David is from San Francisco and Melanie grew up in Hawaii, so most of her family is there. Their wedding was the first time most of her family met David and his family, and was the first time she had seen many of them in several years, so it was very special for everyone to have been able to make the trip.
Another special thing about this wedding was the inclusion of a third person... their baby! At the time of their wedding Melanie was about seven months pregnant. When we first met to talk about their wedding photography, she said that she really wanted to incorporate the baby bump into their photos since it was such a huge part of their lives. They wanted their photos to celebrate not only their wedding but also the start of their new family.
They also wanted to just have fun and tour around the city and stop at some fun locations for photos because they love the city so much. It was a great time!
